SYMBRIQResearch Lab

About

A research lab for the living city.

We work on the fact that cities do not stand still and most tools do. SYMBRIQ Platform is the system. Field work is how we sit next to a place while it is built.

The stance

Cities do not stand still. Zoning, maps, and loss tools mostly do. We treat the present city and its planned future as one object. We evaluate change against that object before the change becomes the city. The first public evaluation is wildfire. The vision is the whole urban system.

Ahmet Seydanlioglu

Co-Founder & CEO | Principal Investigator

Dr. Seydanlioglu is a metropolitan systems architect and researcher working at the intersection of spatial intelligence, urban systems, and data architecture. He holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Geomatics and Urban Systems, with more than 20 years of experience in metropolitan systems design, leadership, and implementation.

As Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Lead Strategic System Architect, he designed and built an integrated urban management system from the ground up for a metropolitan area spanning more than 14,500 km². He led institutional strategy, systems architecture, and organizational design, structuring spatial data, risk, growth, planning, regulatory, and investment processes within an integrated systems architecture; and established and simultaneously led the GIS, Urban Planning, and Housing/Urban Development departments.

Drawing on his practical, leadership, and academic experience, he developed a new urban growth and management model that now forms the foundation of his founding vision. As CEO, Co-Founder, and Principal Investigator, he is transforming this vision into scalable cognitive technology solutions that bring together spatial intelligence, urban systems, and advanced data architecture—continuously learning, understanding, and anticipating change to respond intelligently.
